 How do I stop my cat climbing my Xmas tree? Is there something I can put on the tree, so the cat decides it's not a good idea to climb it? It won't be a problem in January after you take down the tree. But really, there is little you can actually do, so you need to make sure the tree is anchored, and no fragile ornaments on the lower branches. And no tinsel. Cats don't like orange scents, so you might try spraying the lower trunk with an orange scent but that may be more annoying to your nose than to your cat. You can try a squirt gun when your cat approaches, but you cannot be there all the time, so it may only give you cat a greater incentive. You can hope your cat stops once the novelty wears off. |
